BIG TEN FOOTBALL RELEASE - WEEK 10 STANDINGS | MEDIA GUIDE | SCHEDULE

  • Week 10 of the 2024 college football season features eight contests between Big Ten Conference opponents, highlighted by a top-5 matchup of unbeatens on Saturday when No. 4 Ohio State travels to No. 3 Penn State on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. ET on FOX. Maryland and Rutgers will enjoy byes this week, with the complete schedule appearing to the right.
  • Five Big Ten teams appear in the AP Poll this week, including three of the top four. Oregon leads the conference at No. 1, followed by No. 3 Penn State, No. 4 Ohio State, No. 13 Indiana and No. 24 Illinois.
  • Three Big Ten teams remain undefeated through eight weeks of the 2024 season. Indiana, Oregon and Penn State rank among the eight NCAA FBS teams sporting perfect records entering Week 10.
  • On Monday, the Big Ten announced its Football Players of the Week, presented by IFS.ai. Minnesota’s Max Brosmer earned Offensive Player of the Week honors after leading Minnesota to its third straight conference win. Brosmer threw for a season high in passing yards (320) and touchdowns (4).
  • Indiana’s D’Angelo Ponds took home Defensive Player of the Week accolades, recording five stops with 0.5 tackles for loss, while recording a pair of interceptions in Indiana’s 31-17 victory against Washington. Ponds’ 65 yard interception return for a touchdown was the longest for an Indiana player since 2015.
  • Special Teams Player of the Week honors went to Iowa’s Kaden Wetjen. Wetjen returned a punt for a career long 85-yard touhdown in Iowa’s 40-14 victory over Northwestern. He is the first Iowa player since at least 1978 with 100+ kickoff/punt return yards in three consecutive game.
  • Minnesota’s Koi Perich was named Freshmen of the Week after posting a team and Big Ten leading fifth interception of the season in Minnesota’s 48-23 win against Maryland. He also recorded three tackles and returned three punts for 31 yards including a 20-yarder in the win against Maryland.
  • Indiana and Ohio State currently rank among the top 15 nationally in both scoring offense and scoring defense. The Buckeyes rank fourth in scoring defense (11.9 points per game), while ranking 11th in scoring offense (40.3 points per game). The Hoosiers rank second nationally in scoring offense (46.5 points per game), while ranking seventh in scoring defense (14.1 points per game).
  • Seven additional Big Ten teams rank in the top 25 in terms of scoring defense: Penn State (8th, 14.3 points per game), Oregon (10th, 15.6 points per game), Minnesota (12th, 16.8 points per game), Nebraska (18th, 18.1 points per game), Washington (23rd, 18.8 points per game), Wisconsin (24th, 18.9 points per game) and Iowa (25th, 19.0 points per game). 
  • Following a 31-17 win against Washington, Indiana improved to 8-0 for the second time in school history and the first since 1967. The 8-0 start also ties the longest winning streak in school history set in 1945 and 1967. Curt Cignetti is the only Indiana head coach to start his head coaching tenure with an 8-0 record.
  • The top two teams in the regular season standings will meet in the 2024 Discover Big Ten Championship Game on Saturday, Dec. 7 at Lucas Oil Field in Indianapolis, Ind. The game, which will be broadcast on CBS for the first time ever, will be the first in conference history to match the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the overall conference standings.  Media can apply for credentials by visiting bigten.org/about/media
