Michigan Earns 2023 Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships

 
The Michigan Women’s Indoor Track & Field team won the 2023 Big Ten Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. This is head coach Kevin Sullivan’s first indoor championship with the Wolverines, after taking over as Director of Track and Field and Cross Country last year.
 
Ohio State was this year’s runner-up with 90 points, while Iowa finished third with 85 points. Minnesota (78.5 points) and Indiana (68.5 points) rounded out the top five.
 
The Wolverine’s took home three individual Big Ten titles, as Ziyah Holman won the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.39 seconds. Aurora Rynda won the 600-meters with a time of 1:27.30, while Riley Ammenhauser rounded out the weekend with a win in the triple jump (13.18 meters).
 
The Big Ten Track Athlete of the Championships, Field Athlete of the Championships, Coach of the Year and Sportsmanship Award honorees will be announced on Tuesday (Feb. 28). The Big Ten Track Athlete of the Year, Field Athlete of the Year and Freshman of the Year will be announced following the NCAA Indoor Championships.
